Project Sokoria Geothermal Indonesia

KS ORKA acquired the 95% shares of 30 MW Sokoria geothermal power plant in Ende Regency in Flores island, East Nusa Tenggara, in January 2017.

PT Sokoria Geothermal Indonesia received the license to develop the geothermal concession area in Ende Regency, East Nusa Tenggara through the Decree of Ende Regent Number 186 year 2010. The The license was then updated as per Geothermal Law Number 21 year 2014 into Izin Panas Bumi (IPB) through Decree of Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 2951 K/30/MEM/2015. The license provides the legal basis to PT SGI to manage and develop geothermal resources for indirect use within the concession area.

The concession area of PT Sokoria Geothermal Indonesia is located within Ende Regency in Flores Island, not far from where Kelimutu Lake located. The location can be accessed from Denpasar, Bali or Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, through Hasan Aroeboesman Airport in Ende. From the airport, it takes 1.5 hours of land travel to reach the project location. Geothermal system in Sokoria is associated with Kelimutu Volcanic System. It is predicted that the heat source of geothermal system in Sokoria originated from the active Kelimutu volcano as it is shown with the manifestation in form of fumaroles, hot springs and warm springs in south, northwest and southeast of the volcano complex.

PT Sokoria Geothermal Indonesia is currently in the construction phase to support the exploration drilling.
